Participatory research

Participatory research reaffirms a sense of freedom in education because they require practitioners to think about their own experiences. This is because it is an exercise that needs what it means to be human to be present.

The purpose of participatory research is to value and recognize the other and the different. It makes the different, this includes women, youth, children, knowledge, history, culture, aspirations and contributions visible.

We are subjects and objects of research; this means that truth will be achieved through the participatory action of the research community.

Methodologically this is a modest and simple process that includes everyone. However, at the same time it causes processual participation, critical and structural undertaking of realities, profound reflection of causes and trends, identification of conclusions and weakness, elaboration of concrete and achievable strategies, and designing a plan to transform realities.

Participatory research is an essential part of every one of our projects because it generates evidence and is an opportunity for learning, so that we can work as effectively as possible in our community.
